Diatosta markets a product whose manufacturer informed, cooperating with the reports of the Dutch Food Safety Authority (NVWA) on sesame seed contaminants, that some batches were produced with sesame seeds originating in India that contained Ethylene Oxide residues, a substance not allowed in the EU. NVWA informs that the consumption of products containing ethylene oxide does not represent an acute health risk but does not rule out possible risks in the long term. Thus, the products resulting from these lots will be removed from the market as a precaution.
