Toast bread manufacturing, a story with over 40 years
DIATOSTA, S.A. started its activity in August 1977, managed by António Lameiro and D. Isabel Lameiro. The founding partners returned from Mozambique bringing in their luggage a vast experience in the bakery industry when they decided to create a manufacturing unit in Aveiro specializing in the production of toast and mini toast. Over the years, the passion for manufacturing has grown bigger than the factory walls, creating and cementing a tradition in consumption, and in placing this type of product on the consumer's table.
The 90T of final product that we produce daily is the result of the work of more than 350 employees, in 2 independent Production Units (factories). There are a total of 12 production lines producing daily toast and mini toast, which will be distributed through one of our warehouses in Portugal or Spain.
Today, we are the first and only company in Portugal specialized in the exclusive manufacture of toast and mini toast, expanding our core business to the areas of Contract Manufacturing, Private Label, and also Manufacturer's brands.
The environmental issue is a daily concern for Diatosta. We create and implement measures to reduce the ecological footprint of manufacturing processes. An example of this is the removal of palm oil from our ingredient lists.

Diatosta is a recognized brand in the market, and for over 40 years it has been transmitting quality, trust and transparency to its consumers. Acknowledging the trust placed in us by both consumers and customers, we have implemented the demanding IFS Food: Higher Level standard, which we have renewed annually since 2013.

With an export volume of around 60%, we distribute our products to customers all over the world. There are in total more than 40 markets spread over the 5 continents.
